Useful Information for Masters

 

For all Ukrainian ports:

Time zone: GMT +2.
Load Line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100 m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for ships of 100 m or less in length.
Summer 01 Mar to 30 Nov.
Winter 01 Dec to 28/29 Feb.

Due to overtime, the rates for pilotage, towage, mooring operations are subject to following surcharges:

w/days   2200-0600 hrs —   25 %
ssh    0600-2200 hrs —   50 %
ssh    2200-0600 hrs — 100 %

 

General recommendations for Masters:
 

Prior to arrival we strogly recommend you to carefully check ship's and personal belongings on board in order to avoid any problems like claims, penalties, etc. for the vessel/crew.

Please re-count all ship's stores including bunkers, engine oils, water, paints, thinners, grease oils, pyrotechnics (including life-boat and life-rafts), all chemicals in engine room and for deck use, safety and security tools and equipments (batons, bulletproof vests, tasers, etc.), and declare them in ship's store declaration.

All ship's medicines (including narcotis medicines) should be also carefully re-counted (apiece, milligrams, milliliters) and declared in the ship's medicine list.

Vessel should be equipped with certified sewage treatment plant (annual test required) or/and have closed sewage collecting tank with appropriate international connection for pumping out to port facilities.

Discharging of any wastes such as sewage, grey water from galley, showers, etc directly overboard is prohibited. All sewage, grey water must be collected in the separate tank which should be specially fitted/approved for this purpose. Discharging of sewage, grey waters to the shore facilities are available at the most of Ukrainian ports.

Output valves are to be closed / sealed by crew with relevant entry in Log-Book/Engine-Book at 12-miles port limits.

Local regulations for water ballast:

  • Water ballast must be changed in Black Sea with relevant entry in the ship`s logbook and engine book.
  • Deballasting of clean ballast waters alongside is allowed only from segregated ballast tanksl. Pre-notice to the Harbour Master via agent is required.

In all cases please keep on board minimum possible quantity of w/ballast sufficient for safe maneuvering.

For advanced arrangements following preliminary information required form the vessel:

  • ETA 72-48-24-12 hours prior arrival
  • Arrival drafts, Pre-stowage plan / ports rotation, Estimated maximum draft after completion of loading
  • GRT/NRT
  • Shipowner's name, Classification society
  • Number of crew, passengers by nationality, master's name and health condition
  • Pre-arrival ship's information according to ISPS Code


In any case more detailed pre-arrival information/forms/requests (ISPS information, documents should be sent prior arrival, documents should be ready on board on arrival, etc.) will be given you at least 2 days prior arrival to Ukrainian port.
